“Development of new food products (human and animal), obtained from insect biomass”

General purpose: Obtain 2 flours with a high nutritional value from the biomass generated by insects. Specifically, one of them from the Tenebrio molitor insect will be destined for human consumption and the other from the Hermetia illucens insect destined to feed farmed fish, and at a competitive cost.

The novelty of this proposal is that it tries to value existing resources in Navarra that are not being exploited at all (eg native insect species). This proposal represents, therefore, a technological challenge through which the aim is to establish the scientific and technological bases that enable the development of a new industrial activity in Navarra in the short term with a significant economic impact for the entire region.
